Care Plan FAQs

Questions about Halo Heating's Guardian Care Plan.

What does the Halo Heating Guardian Care Plan cover?

The Guardian Care Plan covers your annual boiler service, priority emergency call-outs, labour costs for boiler repairs, and parts cover (up to specified limits). The plan is designed to give you peace of mind that your boiler and central heating system will be maintained and repaired without unexpected bills. Full terms and cover levels are set out in the plan documentation.

How much does the Care Plan cost?

The Guardian Care Plan is available at a competitive monthly fee. Exact pricing depends on the age and type of your boiler and your chosen level of cover. Call us on 01483 676108 or visit our Care Plan page for current pricing. We believe our plan offers excellent value compared to the major utility company cover products.

Is there a limit on the number of call-outs?

The Guardian Care Plan includes unlimited emergency call-outs for covered faults throughout the year. There are no hidden per-call-out charges for covered work. If a fault is found to be excluded from the plan, we'll always inform you of the cost before carrying out any chargeable work.

What is excluded from the Care Plan?

Common exclusions include pre-existing faults that were present when you joined the plan, cosmetic damage, damage caused by limescale in hard water areas (beyond standard treatment), pipework outside the boiler itself, radiators, and the cost of a full boiler replacement if the boiler is beyond economical repair. Full exclusions are listed in the plan terms and conditions.

Can I cancel the Care Plan?

Yes, you can cancel the Guardian Care Plan at any time, subject to the notice period stated in your plan agreement. If you cancel after your annual service has been carried out but before the year is complete, an administration fee may apply. We'll always make the cancellation process straightforward and transparent.

How does the Care Plan compare to boiler cover from a utility company?

The main advantages of the Guardian Care Plan over utility company boiler cover are: our engineers know your system from your annual service visit; response times are typically much faster; you deal with a local company rather than a call centre; and pricing is often more competitive. We're also transparent about what's covered — we don't use small print to avoid honouring claims.

What is the emergency response time for Care Plan members?

We aim to attend within 2–4 hours during the day and within 6 hours out of hours. In practice, response times are often faster, particularly in the immediate Worthing area.

Can I join the Care Plan with an old boiler?

We can accept boilers of most ages onto the Guardian Care Plan, subject to an initial inspection confirming the boiler is in safe working order. Older boilers (typically 10+ years) may be accepted on a parts-excluded basis, meaning labour is covered but parts are charged separately. We'll be transparent about cover levels for older appliances.
